Ραχιαίες άκανθες (συνολικά) : 14 - 17; Μαλακές ραχιαίες ακτίνες (συνολικά) : 10 - 12; Εδρικές άκανθες: 0; Μαλακές εδρικές ακτίνες: 8 - 10; Σπόνδυλοι: 29 - 30. The nape and the upper part of head are distinctively orange-brown in male adults (Ref. 49505).
Caught at shallow depths (2-15 m), but also observed in a trawl between 20-28 m (Ref. 49505). Females produce about 30 eggs per batch (Ref. 49505).
