Northwest Pacific: Sea of Okhotsk to Pacific Ocean off northern Kuril Islands. Recently, collected adult specimens of Cyclopteropsis brashnikowi have features of Cyclopteropsis popovi that the former may be the senior synonym of the latter (Ref. 48811).
