This species is distinguished by from its congeners by the following set of characters: presence of neatly arranged rib-like stripes on side of body; row of equally spaced, bright yellow spots arranged on body side; standard body range of 9.404-11.826 cm; D1 VI, D2 I, 10-11; vertebrae 27; A 9-10 (Ref. 132977).
