Preserved color dark dorsally, fading to yellowish white on throat and belly; scales outlined by broad dark bands or rows of dots; fins colorless or with rays more or less dusky dotted. 12 scales between nape and dorsal. Origin of dorsal nearer caudal than snout. Lateral line complete reaching caudal; 9 scale rows between lateral lines over middle of caudal peduncle. Least depth of caudal peduncle 1.44-1.77 in its length. Maxillary extending to front eye margin.
