Etymology: Avalithoxus: Avalithoxus is a portmanteau of the Latin word ava, meaning ‘grandmother’, and the genus name Lithoxus. It refers to both the apparently basal position of this lineage and the matronym of the type species, which honoured Jeanne Lujan, mother of N.K.Lovejoy; jantjae: Named for the author's mother, nicknamed Jantje prior to her emigration from the Netherlands, in deep appreciation for her hard work and material and emotional encouragement that promoted his professional development and made his research possible.
Eponymy: Jantje (pronounced yäntchi) is the nickname of Lujan’s mother -something she took with her when she emigrated from the Netherlands to South America. [...] (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
