Adult biology: | Mesopelagic species (Ref. 559). | |||
Diagnosis: | Elliptical eye. Snout upturned and very depressed. Head inclined downwards. Very large dorsal fin fold. Small black chromatophores along the entire dorsal and ventral margin of fin fold and trunk. Smaller chromatophores on ventral profile of intestine. . See also LARVAE table. | |||
