Main food Rotifers, Artemia-Nauplii, Metanauplii, dry feed for turbot. In nature Omnivorous, but feeds mainly on crustaceans, molluscs, pelagic invertebrate and small fish.
Description of nutrient input  
Comments Protandric hermaphrodite species (male during its first sexual maturity). Becomes female between 2 and 7 years of age. Spawns from January to June, depending on latitude.Egg size 1.19 larval length at hatching 3.7 mm. In the year 2000 the reproduction cycle was closed in a factory of the group Isidro de la Cal Calicia). The first spawning from parents born in captivity (at 4 years of age) was obtained and the larval phase was completed. Fry obtained, after pre-fattening in tanks, have been transported to cages for ongrowing.
