Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: Japan and the Ryukyu Islands to the East China Sea.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found on sand and rock bottoms (Ref. 12951, 11230). Ovoviviparous, with up to 4 in a litter (Ref. 12951).
IUCN Red List Status: Vulnerable (VU); Date assessed: 29 August 2019 (A2d) Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
