Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 1 - 60 m
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific. Reported from India, Taiwan and Hawaii.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 15-18; Anal soft rays: 13-18. This species is distinguished by the number of dorsal-fin rays 15-18 and anal-fin rays 13-18; position of the first anal-fin ray relative to dorsal-fin ray 1st-3rd; small teeth; position of swim bladder along the body 66% SL (Ref. 129304).
Biology:  Planktonic, benthopelagic (Ref. 58302).
