Max. size:  5 cm SL (male/unsexed); 4 cm SL (female)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 6 - 8; dH range: 5 - 12
Distribution:  Oceania: known only from the lowlands of eastern Papua New Guinea between Dyke Ackland Bay and Collingwood Bay.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 4-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-9; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 15-18
Biology:  Inhabits rainforest streams with thick vegetative cover (Ref. 2847). An omnivorous egg layer and peaceful community fish which prefers the following aquarium conditions: pH=7.6, H=14, 25°C water temperature (Ref. 6398).
