Distribution:  Western Central Pacific: Bintan Island, off northeastern Sumatra, Indonesia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 13-13; Dorsal soft rays (total): 14-14; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 14-14. Description: Tube lateral line scales 18; preorbital-suborbital series without scales; plain dark brown without distinguishing marks, caudal fin emarginate (Ref. 31117). Body depth 1.9-2.1 in SL (Ref. 90102).
Biology:  Adults are found in turbid coastal waters on rocky bottoms (Ref. 31117). Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate (Ref. 205). Males guard and aerate the eggs (Ref. 205).
