Max. size:  6 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 0 - 120 m
Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic: off Morocco, the Canary Islands and from off Algeria in the Mediterranean (Ref. 6733).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits oceanic and coastal waters. Sub-adults planktonic, adults probably demersal (Ref. 6733). Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205).
