Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 6.8; depth range - 0 m
Distribution:  Asia: Nanwan River in Yunnan, China.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 3-3; Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-8; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 9-10; Vertebrae: 30. Can be diagnosed from all its congeners by the following characters: pre-dorsal scales 15-16; predorsal length 60.68% of SL; preanal length 65-71% of SL; eye diameter 27-38% of HL and 70-93% of inter-orbital width; and dorsal fin origin posterior to pelvic fin insertion (Ref. 75599).
Biology:  Occurs in small hill stream with sandy bottom and numerous cobblestones. Food items found in the intestines include zooplankton and phytoplankton (Ref. 75599).
