Family:  Sciaenidae (Drums or croakers)
Max. size:  40 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; brackish; marine
Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: Mexico.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found along sandy coasts and bays; also in estuaries, river mouths, and coastal lagoons (Ref. 9118). Feeds mainly on benthic crustaceans, mollusks and worms (Ref. 9118). Common in local markets (Ref. 9118).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 24 May 2007 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
