Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 0 - 3500 m
Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: California, USA to Panama. Reported from Chile (Ref. 9068).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Juvenile samples were collected at depths of 250 - 500 meters, whereas adults at 700 - 3,500 meters (Ref. 51657). Minimum depth from Ref. 58018.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 30 December 2019 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
