Family:  Xenocyprididae (East Asian minnows)
Max. size:  20 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  pelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Chao Phraya basin in Thailand (Ref. 12041). Reported from the Mekong basin (Ref. 30857) The Cambodian species may be distinct from the one recorded from central Thailand (Ref. 12693).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits middle and upper water levels of large and medium-sized rivers (Ref. 12693). Little is known about this species, but it is apparently uncommon or at least localized in distribution. Probably a filter feeder (Ref. 12693).
IUCN Red List Status: Data deficient (DD); Date assessed: 19 February 2011 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
