Diagnosis: | Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 13-15; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 17-19. Anal organs 12-13 (Ref. 39633). | |||
Biology: | Mesopelagic (Ref. 58302). High-oceanic, found between 300-700 m during the day and between 40-325 m at night with maximum abundance at 100 m. Sexually mature from about 12.3-13.8 cm (near Hawaii) (Ref. 4479). Oviparous, with planktonic eggs and larvae (Ref. 31442). | |||
