Family:  Congridae (Conger and garden eels), subfamily: Heterocongrinae
Max. size:  80 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range - 20 m, non-migratory
Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: Gulf of California and Costa Rica.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Forms big colonies on sandy areas near reefs (Ref. 37955). Feeds on zooplankton suspended in the water column (Ref. 37955).
IUCN Red List Status: Data deficient (DD); Date assessed: 22 May 2007 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
