Max. size:  12.7 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: Lake Victoria (Smith Sound, Tanganyika Territory).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Holotype collected from an area with a mud bottom (Ref. 4983). The stomach of the specimen which was examined was packed with early embryos of a cichlid fish (Ref. 558).
IUCN Red List Status: Vulnerable (VU); Date assessed: 31 March 2010 (D2) Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
