| Diagnosis: | Body silvery with red pelvic, anal and lower caudal lobe (Xiangkhouang stock) or grey (Louang Phabang stock, Laos). Last simple anal ray bony and serrated posteriorly; with 4 barbels; branched dorsal rays 18-22.5 (Ref. 43281). | |||
| Biology: | Found in freshwater, but tolerant to slightly brackish water (Ref. 82587). | |||
