Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 0 - 1 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Red Sea to the Persian Gulf.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-12; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 11-11
Biology:  Occurs in very shallow water, living in a burrow in sediment. Probably associated with alpheid shrimp (Ref. 11441).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 25 June 2018 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
