Occurs upstream of the first rapids, in forest creeks with moderate illumination, slow current and sandy-silty substrate, together with Moenkhausia moisae, Moenkhausia oligolepis, Pyrrhulina filamentosa and Dysichthys coracoideus [= Bunocephalus coracoideus (Ref. 35237). | |||
