Family:  Callichthyidae (Callichthyid armored catfishes), subfamily: Corydoradinae
Max. size:  4.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater; pH range: 6 - 8; dH range: 2 - 25
Distribution:  South America: Oyapock River basin.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Although quite abundant, it has not been found anywhere else except upstream of the first rapids. Sympatric with C. condiscipulus (Ref. 35381).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 26 September 2020 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
