Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: widespread in the Congo River basin, from the lower Congo (Ref. 42510) up to the Lufira (Ref. 2970) and Lake Mweru (Ref. 45616). Also in the Lake Tanganyika basin (Ref. 2801, 4967), including the Malagarazi (Ref. 98755).
