Distribution:  Western Atlantic: Cariaco Trench, Venezuela, Gulf of Mexico to southern Brazil (Ref. 47377).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Neritic (Ref. 46075). Oviparous, with planktonic eggs and larvae (Ref. 6735).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 29 January 2013 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
