Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: China.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 1-6; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-11; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 9-10; Vertebrae: 27-27. This species is distinguished by from its congeners by the following set of characters: presence of neatly arranged rib-like stripes on side of body; row of equally spaced, bright yellow spots arranged on body side; standard body range of 9.404-11.826 cm; D1 VI, D2 I, 10-11; vertebrae 27; A 9-10 (Ref. 132977).
