Number of elongate odontodes on cheek 30-60; absence of dark spots on the ventral surface of head and body; fins and lateral and dorsal plates of head and body with numerous dark dots; dorsal-fin rays I, 7; premaxillary teeth 17-29; absence of small dark spots on upper region of eye; first anal-fin pterygiophore barely exposed, sometimes covered by skin; long and curled odontodes of adult males confined to the upper caudal peduncle region; interorbital width 30.3-35.0% HL (Ref. 49598). | |||
